Dunlop vs. Talalay: Just the Facts
We do not take sides; instead we carry both and educate you on the differences. If your goal is to find the purest, most natural latex, then Dunlop is the answer. That is why we use Sri Lankan Dunlop latex, the cleanest, most natural latex available. If you are interested in a precise comfort level and are not concerned about toxicity, then Talalay would be an option. The Talalay curing process is more involved, so that the rubber sap ?freezes? in the mould instantly, providing a more consistent, uniform comfort level. The drawback to the Talalay process is that some chemicals are required to allow this instant freeze cure. The Dunlop process, on the other hand, uses the original latex curing process developed in the xxxxs. The heavier particles in the latex milk have time to slightly settle, which makes one side of the latex rubber slightly firmer than the other, hence the ?inconsistency? argument that is bandied about the internet (some of our customers consider this inconsistency a feature that allows them to flip over the latex to adjust it to a firmer or softer feel). ?So there are pros and cons to each latex type, and we would be glad to walk you through the differences in our showroom just outside of Philadelphia or over the phone.
